Ingredients:

  • One small Vacherin Mont-d'Or AOC cheese still in its box packaging
  • A small glass of white wine - optional

To serve:

  • Fresh crusty bread or jacket potatoes

Method:

Remove the pine lid from the Vacherin Mont-d'Or box. Wrap the box in aluminium foil and pour a small glass of white wine over the cheese.  Bake for about 25 minutes at 200 deg C, 400 deg F or Gas Mark 6.  Serve with fresh crusty bread or jacket potatoes.

Alternatively, bake the cheese without adding wine.  For a crusty top, bake un-lidded or for a softer top, cover with foil.
